Michael Steiner is a Los Angeles based producer working in features, documentary film and Virtual Reality. His focus is creating provocative, independent entertainment and his passions are geared towards raw, humanistic stories.
Michael is currently developing and producing Virtual Reality content with companies at the forefront of the new media. Michael also works with Strongman Films alongside Terry Leonard, operating as Associate Producer on a slate of narrative and documentary features.
Michael earned an MFA in Producing from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. His thesis film, Day One, was nominated for Best Live Action Short at the 2016 Academy Awards. The film also won two College Emmys for Best Drama and Best Directing, received the BAFTA US Student Award, won the Narrative Gold Medal at the Student Academy Awards. His work has played at Telluride, AFI Fest, Mill Valley, Seattle, and Cannes among others.
Michael grew up in Boulder, Colorado, attended Brown University and holds a B.A. from the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has a passion for international travel, the outdoors, snowboarding, and motorcycle riding.
